This is your noble cause ... Ms. Sheehan.

She sits out in the blistering sun waiting to ask President Bush why he "killed her son". She waits to ask the world's most powerful man just what the "noble cause" was that her son died for. Questions we know will never be answered to her satisfaction.

Cindy Sheehan lost her 24 year old son Army Spc Casey Sheehan on April 4, 2004 in Sadr City. Of course this loss, and every loss, is tragic. In addition, it's important to put grief and loss on display in the media because it's a very real part of war. However, today's media uses grief over and over not to bring us a reality, but to diminish our support for the war.

Do you think Casey Sheehan, looking down on his mother from heaven, is happy about her choice to protest the war outside the president's ranch in Crawford, Texas? Or do you think, as I believe, he was proud of what he was doing and wants to be regarded as a hero rather than a man who died in vein?

Cindy Sheehan wants to demand the president bring home the troops immediately. Can you imagine all the effort, money and sacrifice we've expended thus far going to waste by pulling out before we have accomplished our mission? Then all the sacrifice would have been for nothing at all. "Stay the course" isn't popular, but it's the right thing to do.

I thought on last Sunday night's show I could explain what the "noble cause" of the war was to everyone listening, but as it turns out, a picture does a better job then I ever could.
